102-Year-Old Chinese Woman Becomes the World's Oldest First-Year Student

Ma Xiuxian, a 102-year-old woman from China, has joined her fellow classmates in Grade One of Weshan Road Elementary School for the first day of school. As she sat in her desk alongside a row of five-year-olds, she became the world's oldest first-year pupil. She started working at a cotton mill at the age of 13, married at the age of 18, and had nine children. Seven of her children went to college universities; however, she never received an education herself.

After longing for the proper education, she enrolled in her first year at a local Chinese primary school. It's never too late to learn, and you are never too old to do anything!
