World Premiere of Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack" Video!

Jas Prince A.K.A. Young CEO (Young Money Ent.) Spotted With Black Pepper Zoo Tee On!

World Star Hip Hop recently hosted a party in Houston, and look who showed up in the Black Pepper Zoo X Lion's Den Tee?

Jas Prince, son of Southern rap pioneer and RAP-A-LOT Founder J Prince, was the mastermind behind discovering Drake. Check out the interview to see how Jas Prince discovered him:

What was your involvement with Drake?
I found Drake on Myspace. I believe Myspace is the easiest way to find hot artists in every region. I was going through a bunch of artists and did a worldwide blast to find out who had the most hits. I came across Drake’s page; yellow boy from Canada. The first song I clicked on was “Replacement Girl” with Trey Songz, and I was like, “Damn, this nigga can rap!” I wondered if he was signed. He’s got a video, a song with Trey Songz.. no label? I sent him a message and introduced myself. A couple days later I got a response back. “No, I’m not signed.” He gave me his number and we talked for a while. In my mind, I’m like, “This boy is a star. He raps, sings, and acts.” So I’m pushing it to everybody, like, “I got this artist named Drake, and I’m gonna sign him.” I hit Wayne like, “Yo, bro. I got this artist I want you to hear.” Wayne kept pushing it back, like, “Yeah, yeah. Alright.”

Two years ago I did a concert [in Houston] on New Year’s Eve with Wayne. The next day, after the concert, we were chillin’ at the hotel and Wayne asked me to take him to the jewelry store. He jumped in my truck. All the time, I’m thinking about business, so I put in this Drake CD. He was feeling it, bobbing his head. Drake said some slick line, and Wayne was like, “Yo, who is this, man? This boy nice!” I said, “That’s the nigga Drake I been telling you about.” Then I played “Brand New,” a song where Drake is singing. Wayne was like, “Man, who is this?” I said, “That’s Drake!” He’s like, “Bro, he sings too? Man, call him right now. Get him on the next flight to Houston.”

I called Drake, and he was at the barbershop. He’s like, “Yo, this Drizzy,” and Wayne was like, “Yo, it’s Weezy.” He was kinda shocked. Wayne said, “Get on the next flight to Houston. I’ma holla at you when you get here.” Drake called me back like, “Was that Wayne for real?” He flew out the next morning and we went to the studio that night. The next day we got on the bus and rode from Houston to Atlanta. We had a long ride and got to talk over some things. That night we went to the studio, and that’s when he recorded “Forever” and “Stunt Hard.” From then on, it’s history.

Growing Your Business: 5 Tips From the Founder of Foursquare

1. “Twitter is your best friend”

Crowley speaks of Twitter () as a distribution channel for all types
of communication, and describes it as the most immediate way to
connect with customers.
“At Foursquare we use Twitter for a little bit of everything: Good
news and bad news, press clippings, RTs [retweets] from other users
and customer service inquires. We’ll tweet when new versions of our
apps are ready for download and tweet when our database is
experiencing hiccups. Keeping users in the know doesn’t take any more
than a few seconds and your most loyal users will spread the word via
RTs.The nature of Foursquare may position it to be more heavily
followed than the typical small business, but the point here is that
small business owners should use Twitter to compliment their
day-to-day work experiences.

2. “Keep it light”

The Foursquare team lives by this mantra, so while they share
everything from where they are to what they’re doing, they’re doing so
in edible, consumer-sized bites, perfect for the sporadic attention
spans of their audience. On this front, they’ve opted to use Tumblr ()
as a lightweight blogging platform. Crowley explains, “On our company
Tumblr we’ll post the success stories our users send in, write recaps
of what goes down at Foursquare HQ meetings, and post pics of what
we’re having for lunch. Our staff is full of personality and we try to
show that as much as we can. The story of 16 guys and girls crammed
around four tables is much more interesting than the story of a
faceless Internet startup.”

Crowley also advises to apply the “keep it light” philosophy to all
customer-facing initiatives. He also suggests that small business
owners don’t have to be “all business, all the time.”

3. “Guerilla customer service”

Foursquare is by no means perfect. As a young startup, the company
faces the challenge of keeping their servers running as they attract
record levels of activity, and doing so always in the public eye. It’s
a daunting position to be in unless it’s approached head-on, and
that’s what Crowley and his team do on a daily basis. “We’ll use
Twitter Search to search for things like “foursquare sucks,”
“foursquare broken,” etc. to find people who are experiencing problems
but who would probably never submit a support ticket. With a quick
@reply we can often shed some light on the issue and do it in
public.”The same guerilla-style customer service is perfect for small
businesses, especially with regard to negative press or unflattering
blog posts and comments. Crowley says, “don’t feel shy, jump in and
comment. Making yourself part of the conversation shows users you’re
listening and care about the issues they have.”

4. “Small and scrappy marketing 4eva”

Not everything should be expensive, especially when it comes to
marketing. Small businesses could easily be intimidated by the money
that bigger companies can throw at large campaigns, but bigger isn’t
always better.Steal a page from Foursquare’s play book and get
scrappy. Take the SXSW Interactive festival. Inside the convention
center there were dozens of sponsors with huge tents and elaborate
setups. Here’s what Foursquare did: “Instead [of formulating a
marketing plan] we did two things: #1. Took all the swag we had (pins,
stickers, temporary tattoos) and put them in ziplock bags. Everytime
we found a user that told us how much they loved Foursquare (and there
was an army of them!) we gave them a bag of swag to hand out to their
friends. #2. We picked up a rubber Foursquare ball and a box of chalk,
drew a Foursquare court on the ground outside the convention center
and played for four days straight (and yes, we are still sore).”

The game was a huge hit and attracted the attention of conference
goers and big media alike. Crowley continues saying, “Thousands of
people stopped by to see what was going on, say hi, play a game or
two, and pick up some swag. It gave people the chance to meet our team
in a super informal setting (playground game!) and hang out with us in
an environment where phones and laptops were completely out of the
way.”

5. “Show off your team”

The scrappiness didn’t stop with fun and games. Crowley also used the
offline event as an opportunity to introduce users to team members,
and vice versa, in a playful way.
Crowley states, “We designed our business cards as collectibles —
collect all 6 and unlock a Foursquare badge. Once word of this got
out, people were looking all over downtown Austin for employees just
so they could introduce themselves and collect a badge. Every time we
handed out a card, we got to meet one of our users. Actually
encouraging people to reach out and introduce themselves to your team
puts a name and a face on the products you’re building. It also helped
us start a dialog with people who’d probably never introduce
themselves.”

The world's largest atom smasher conducted its first experiments at conditions nearing those after the Big Bang

GENEVA – The world's largest atom smasher conducted its first experiments at conditions nearing those after the Big Bang, breaking its own record for high-energy collisions with proton beams crashing into each other Tuesday at three times more force than ever before. In a milestone for the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider's ambitious bid to reveal details about theoretical particles and microforces, scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, or CERN, took high-tech photographs so they could study the disintegrating protons after they collided at a combined energy level of 7 trillion electron volts. The collisions herald a new era for researchers working on the machine in a 17-mile (27-kilometer) tunnel below the Swiss-French border at Geneva. "That's it! They've had a collision," said Oliver Buchmueller from Imperial College in London as people closely watched monitors.

In a control room, scientists erupted with applause when the first successful collisions were confirmed. Their colleagues from around the world were tuning in by remote links to witness the new record, which surpasses the 2.36 TeV CERN recorded last year. Dubbed the world's largest scientific experiment, researchers hope the machine can approach on a tiny scale what happened in the first split seconds after the Big Bang, which they theorize was the creation of the universe some 14 billion years ago. The extra energy in Geneva is expected to reveal even more about the unanswered questions of particle physics, such as the existence of antimatter and the search for the Higgs boson, a hypothetical particle that scientists theorize gives mass to other particles and thus to other objects and creatures in the universe.

Affordable Loan Changes for College Students

President Barack Obama is expected to sign the education bill into law on Tuesday, March 30th. The law will benefit young people by offering more student lending, caps on those repayments and more funding for minority colleges and universities.

'This reform of the federal student loan programs will save taxpayers $68 billion over the next decade,' Obama said in his weekly Internet and radio address Saturday. 'And with this legislation, we're putting that money to use achieving a goal I set for America: By the end of this decade, we will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.'

'To make sure our students don't go broke just because they chose to go to college, we're making it easier for graduates to afford their student loan payments,' Obama said.

Japan pedometer gives incentive to skip the taxi

TOKYO - Looking for extra motivation to walk away the pounds? A Japanese company is selling a pedometer that calculates how much money you save on taxi fares by walking as well as the calories you burn. The metre on Happinet Toy's 'Taxi Walker' starts at 710 yen (5.07 pounds)—the same as the initial fare for most Tokyo taxis and which covers the first 2 kms (1.2 miles). Once the user has walked more than 2 km, the pedometer tacks on 90 yen for each additional 280 metres covered.

The Taxi Walker is recommended for a range of people, from businessmen who often take taxis to budget-conscious housewives, said Kayoko Sakaba, who is in charge of advertising at Happinet's marketing division. 'Especially after going out for drinks people often go home by taxi, so they can use it in such situations,' Sakaba said. 'It also shows the number of calories (burnt), so as you're losing weight you also feel like you're saving money,' she said.

The 4 cm by 6 cm (1.6 inches by 2.4 inches) pedometer is available in various colours, but Sakaba said the yellow version with checkerboard trim below the display screen is the most popular, because it looks like a typical cab. The settings for initial fare and per-metre charges can be changed to correspond to fares in other regions of Japan, as well as for higher speeds and long-distance walking. The pedometer, which sells for 2,079 yen, is available only in Japan.

The Twist Alarm Clock forces you to activate your brain in the morning "Japan and its alarm clocks"

Most of these devices force you to wake up through an extra-annoying noise (or by moving away from you), but this new one, the so-called Twist Alarm Clock [JP], makes you solve (simple) math problems. The way it works is that when the alarm starts ringing in the morning, the clock uses its two displays and two rotatable parts to create a math problem, for example 8+2=?. It won’t stop ringing until you give it the right answer. 5-4=2, as seen in the picture above, won’t work. Maker D-Forme says the main idea behind their clock is to force buyers to activate their brains in the morning.

The Pepper Zoo Presents Ultra Winter Music Conference Miami 2010 [MORE PICS]

The Pepper Zoo emerged in Ultra Music Festival | Winter Music Conference this past weekend, and let's just say...WOW. UMF is an amazing event filled with a lot of energy, music, good vibes, and extremely talented people from all over the globe. People will do almost anything to get tickets to this mass-production, musically exhilarating event!! Last year, attendance was over 100,000 people and it looked as though this year's attendance was even higher! We spoke with a group of people who traveled from as far as Sweden JUST to be a part of the event! The event was introduced by Carl Cox, a UK techno DJ and producer, who puts together a DOPE show (complete with lasers, glow sticks, and hype music). Deadmau5, who won best techno DJ last year, closed the show with an outstanding performance. What shocked us was that he opened up his show by dropping some DJ Screw! Hold up! Armin Van Buuren was yet another creative genius, who is the best techno DJ from Amsterdam. We have plenty of videos of the events, so stay tuned! We're taking you ALL THE WAY in to Ultra Music Festival! Let's goooooo.

The World's largest electronic music event is held annually in Miami, which coincides with the Winter Music Conference. It was initially created in 1999, as a pure electronic dance music festival. However, it has grown to introduce the World's best headline electronic music artists (The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, Underworld, MOBY, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Deadmau5, and Paul Oakenfold). It has also crossed over to present headline bands that incorporate electronic dance music elements into their music (The Cure, The Killers, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, and The Bravery). The two-day festival holds 16 stages and features over 250 bands, DJs, artists, and producers.

Ultra Winter Music Conference takes various actions toward improving the planet, as well. Eco Village, an element of Ultra, was established in 2004, which is an influential Non-Profit organization that unites people to protect the planet via the outlet of music and social gathering.
