Rob Fusari, a songwriter and producer claimed that he was not compensated for developing her stage name, co-writing songs for her, and helping her get a record deal. He also claimed that the pair previously dated and she dipped when her career began to take off. They co-wrote “Paparazzi” and “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich.”
Lady Gaga said, “I was Gaga from the time that I was 19 through my first record deal. I always dressed like that before people knew me as Lady Gaga. I was always that way. … I stuck out like a sore thumb.” Prior to the lawsuit, they formed a business partnership in May, 2006. Team Love Child LLC was a business venture that they created, of which Fusari received 20 percent share.
The lawsuit stated that he never received 20 percent share of song royalties, 15 percent of merchandising revenue and other money that is owed to him. He acknowledges getting checks for about $611,000, however. Goo goo for Gaga?
